The state of Texas has yet another paradise-like lagoon powered by Crystal Lagoons® patented technology. Part of a 29-acre amenity village in the Sierra Vista development located in Rosharon along the Highway 288 corridor, the real estate project is a joint development with leading Houston-based, Land Tejas. The firms’ expansion has recently been covered by the Houston Chronicle.
The Sierra Vista development marks the real estate developer’s third lagoon in Texas, and the fourth for the American multinational water innovation company.
Land Tejas opened its first 2-acre lagoon at Balmoral, in Humble in 2018, and is set to complete phase one of its second amenity this year, a 12-acre lagoon in Texas City’s Lago Mar. The latter consists of a 70-acre resort-style compound that will include a hotel, waterfront boardwalk promenade, 250,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space as well as condos and townhomes. The state is also home to Windsong Ranch, a separate development also anchored by what is known as the world’s top amenity, which opened in 2019.
Sierra Vista’s 4-acre pure turquoise lagoon will feature multiple white sand beaches, a splash pad, kids cove as well as paddleboard and kayak options. Plans for a “celebration lawn,” restaurant, grotto and music performance stage are also in the works. The lagoon will employ environmentally friendly technology that helps maintain turquoise, crystalline waters with almost 100% fewer chemicals and just 2% of the energy required by a traditional pool. Crystal Lagoons state-of-the-art technology, created by biochemist Fernando Fischmann, is patented in 190 countries worldwide, making it the only firm capable of creating and maintaining crystalline lagoons of unlimited size.
The lagoon and surrounding beach areas have been described as a luxurious beach destination for those seeking a beach experience on their doorstep, and will elevate daily living for Sierra Vista residents.
Construction at Sierra Vista will begin in early 2020 with an opening date planned for 2021.
