In Derby could be the next Crystal Lagoons project in the US

A new Public Access Lagoons™ project, also known as PAL ™ development, could develop Crystal Lagoons in the United States. This time, it would be located off Rock Road near Patriot Avenue, in Derby County, Vermont.

The complex would include a large crystalline lagoon for swimming and water sports, like paddleboarding, scuba diving and snorkeling. There would also be a hotel, apartments, restaurants and six acres of land for “glamping, or glamour camping.

“It’s both for people who live here to have a quality of life and one more thing to do here in Kansas but also of course part of the goal is tourism out of state and out of the region,” said Derby City Manager Kathy Sexton.

Developers would have to add property to the already existing Derby STAR bond district. Sexton said the district would pay for the project, in partnership with private businesses and the public.

Some who live in Derby call the proposed destination exciting.

“I think it’ll be great, I think there’s a lot of nice things that’ll come in here… I think it’ll be great for the city… lots of jobs, various things that are all good,” said Barbara Blue, who lives near the site.

The Derby City Council will hold a public hearing on the project at its meeting on Oct. 26. The council is expected to approve the addition of land to the star bond.

The site will feature a 6 MW data center, cooled by the 1.7-hectare crystalline lagoon, which has already been inaugurated. Crystal Lagoons Expands in Orlando with Four New Projects

Crystal Lagoons continues to deepen its success in the United States, its most important market worldwide, with over 275 projects in different stages of development or negotiation. This time, with a new Master Agreement—an exclusivity agreement for developing Public Access Lagoons®, also known as PAL®, real estate, and hybrid projects in a specific territory, which in this case is the Orlando Metropolitan Area, Florida.

Crystalline lagoon: a differentiating feature

These developments, whose centerpiece will be a lagoon powered by Crystal Lagoons® technology, will bring idyllic beach life to the most visited destination in the U.S., with 75 million tourists a year, which offers a wide range of entertainment but lacks a coastline.
